Dr. John Levy, D.D.SDr. John S. Levy has provided dental care to the New Haven area residents since 1976. An innovative leader in the dental community, Dr. Levy has been featured and has been quoted in newspapers and magazines, and has authored numerous dental articles. As an Associate Professor at Georgetown University, he taught crown and bridge. He was honored with the Joseph Borkowski Award for professionalism in dentistry from Georgetown University and with the National Service Award from the National Institutes of Health in Washington, D.C.. Attending continuing education courses each year enables Dr. Levy to provide the best care and service and to keep up with the latest advances in dentistry . He is certified in cosmetic and esthetic dentistry, placement and restoration of implants, and advanced endodontics. He is the chair of the New Haven Jewish Foundation and a member of the Connecticut Regional Board of the Anti-Defamation League. He has served as Chair of the Board for the Jewish Home for the Aged in New Haven and has been on the boards of the Greater New Haven United Way Endowment Fund and the Resource Group in Providence, Rhode Island. He has been honored for his commitment to the community by the Jewish Federation of New Haven, Ezra Academy, B'nai B'rith Youth Organization and the Israel Bonds organization. A native of the New Haven area, Dr. Levy graduated from George Washington University with a B.S. degree in Chemistry . He attained his dental degree from Georgetown University Dental School, then performed a postdoctoral fellowship in Biochemical Engineering at Yale University. He lives in Woodbridge with his wife, Beverly. Their daughter, Perri, lives in West Haven. Dr. Stephen Stanley, D.M.D Dr. Stephen T. Stanley graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston in 1991. He received his B.S. in biology from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Stanley is a member of the American Dental Association, as well as two local dental organizations: The Connecticut Dental Association and The New Haven Dental Association. Dr. Stanley has been a member of the Levy Dental Group for more than five years, where he holds the position of General Dentist. Dr. Stanley provides treatment for many of the pediatric clients of the practice and is also responsible for many of the endodontic (root canal) procedures needed by our patients. Dr. Stanley comes to us from a strong background in community-based dentistry. He spent three years living in Freeport, Grand Bahamas, working for the Bahamian Government in a community-based dental clinic. It was there that Dr. Stanley gained his appreciation for treating children. Dr. Stanley continues his strong ties with the community through his active involvement with the New Haven Public School System Dental Program. Dr. Stanley and his wife Myra Simmons-Stanley resides in New Haven with their two children Stephen and Lauryn. Dr. Michael Wiener, D.D.S Dr. Michael Wiener has practiced periodontics and implantology since 1995. He graduated with awards from the State University of New York School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook, where he also completed a three year residency in periodontics and implant surgery. Since then, Dr. Wiener has developed as a premier specialist in dental implants. Dr. Wiener has written a number of scientific articles in the periodontal literature such as the Journal of Periodontology, on topics such as bone regeneration, diagnosis of periodontal disease and the host response on periodontal pathogens. State-of-the-art technology is key to the high quality of care and services Dr. Wiener provides. Dr. Wiener is committed to helping patients attain oral health with an improved appearance and quality of life. He provides comprehensive periodontal treatment of the highest quality, including cosmetic gum surgery, bone regeneration and dental implants. At the Levy Dental Group, Dr. Wiener works as the surgeon in a team which includes the restorative dentist and the dental technician acting in concert. As they all work together at the same location, they are able to perform certain procedures that otherwise couldn't be done. Treatment is expedited and always goes more smoothly. The Levy team is known for its top level of exchange between doctors and communication between staff people. The patient is the center of care. Dr. Wiener is also well-known with apprehensive patients for his light touch and gentle bedside manner. Dr. Wiener resides with his wife and three children in New Haven. Dr. Jeremiah Long, D.D.S Dr. Jeremiah Long joined the Levy Dental Group in February of 2007. Prior to joining us, he was in private practice both in NYC and Rowayton/Darien, CT providing his family of patients' leading edge care and gentle restorative dental treatments to enhance their oral health. He is passionate about his work, and believes that the modern technology available today helps him in providing the utmost care to every patient that trusts in him and the Levy Dental team. Born in New Jersey, Dr. Long lived there most of his childhood. However, with his father being a merchant marine, he and his family spent 6 years in the Panama Canal. A graduate of Adelphi University, in Garden City, NY, Dr. Long received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology. While at Adelphi, his enthusiasm and skill in basketball earned him the title of captain of his team, leaving his mark as a 1500-point career scorer. In 1992, Dr. Long graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. As a dental student he proudly represented the University at the International Association of Dental Researchers in Acapulco, Mexico. Dr. Long is a member of the Connecticut State Dental Association, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He has trained at the prestigious Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Fla. and completed a yearlong continuing education program at New York University on the surgical and prosthetic management of dental implants. Dr. Long lives in Madison with his wife, Carol Ann, and their two children. Outside of dentistry, his favorite pastime is spending time with family and friends. Dr. Long loves to read, hike, and make fresh popcorn, but most of all he loves to sing and write songs. In fact, Dr. Long's passion for music was the impetus for the creation of the Jeremiah Long Band, in which he is singer/songwriter and plays the acoustic guitar. The band released its first album "Chasing the Ghost" in 2001, then "One Time Around" in 2005. They are currently recording a third album "From Times Square" due for release the summer of 2008. |
